Outreach

I have been fortunate to participate in a number of public outreach events involving groups of all ages. At the University of Kansas I served as co-president of the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Graduate Student Organization (GSO), which has forged close relationships with area schools and girl scout troops, and as a member of the GSO outreach committee. As a member/former president of the KU Natural History Museum student organization I have developed events targeting the KU and greater Lawrence communities. I also strive to engage with underrepresented groups in my role as a founding member of the KU chapter of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS).
